Periodic Update 2
Yesterday I received a copy of Tokyopop’s Gothic & Lolita Bible, the first English-language Gothic and Lolita magazine ever to be published. Lovers of the culture basked in sparkling glee when word finally came of its February release date, and you can bet I was one of them! When I beheld the shiny cover of my new Bible, my heart thumped with anticipation, and as I began to read, I received a swift kick in the face. And 6-inch platform heels HURT.
I have many criticisms about the first English Bible. If I can find a way to say them constructively, I will, but in the mean time I think I’m just going to keep my mouth shut (except, my friends have already had to put up with my ranting…sorry, guys). I really didn’t expect to be so disappointed in it, which is maybe why it stings so badly.
I plan on writing an objective review of it for The Anime Blog. This is the reason I received it for.
Speaking of The Anime Blog, I recently finished a two-part article about the styles we call Aristocrat. I feel like I’ve committed a crime by trying to define the different styles in words and giving them labels, I’m sorry everyone T_T But I wanted to write something for absolute beginners who admire the style, some sort of guidelines that they could follow, and use to distinguish between other styles. Oh, enough yammering, would you like to critique them?
Other things in the process of being written or that I plan on writing about for the Grimoire:
Why do we use the name “Gothic and Lolita”?
Lolita, Elitism, and Snobbery (not what you think it’s about)
The Pros and Cons of Cosloli, or Lolita Cosplay.
Livejournal Lolita
The Dark History of Goth
The Evolution of Gothic Lolita
Small essays about each “substyle”, and why I hate that term.
Kuroloki’s style
Lolita style
Lolita culture and lifestyle: a.k.a. the subjective, personalized areas of Lolita
What are some other articles you would like to see here?
Oh, and I am still in the process of adding old Antique Child articles to the blog’s archive. Maybe if I add one a day, it will break down the workload into digestible doses. Breaking things down is nice.

Personally, I’m in favor of all (and any) of those article ideas. I think they are all good ideas that should be researched and discussed.

Try Vol. 2. It’s *much* better. ^^
